Parks of the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is one of the natural wonders of the world. Northern Arizona, where the Grand Canyon is located, is vast, remote, and sparsely populated. Most of the land up here is either public land or Indian reservations. Between Kaibab National Forest and Grand Canyon National Park, most the of the land you probably will traverse while on vacation at the Grand Canyon will be on Government land. As a general rule, National Park sites such as Grand Canyon National Park, are set up to magage a natural resource for the enjoyment of people. Parks are for people. National Forests, however, put an emphasis on managing natural resources mostly to protect and preserve the resources, with minimal traffic from human beings. Forests are for trees. That is not to say, however, that National Forests are not managed with people in mind. It's just that fewer people usually desire to visit National Forests, so the land can be managed with more of an eye towards preservation. National Parks, on the other hand, are usually created around some sort of attraction that draws lots and lots of people. Thus, we have Grand Canyon National Park on the rim areas of the Canyon, and Kaibab National Forest boundaries beginning just outside the heavy-use areas of the Grand Canyon. Each has wonderful facilities and attractions for visitors, so make sure to visit each page to find out more. Grand Canyon National Park
