The Grand Canyon in Arizona is one of the most popular destinations to visit
in the world. It is estimated that around 5 million people a year visit this
beautiful seventh world wonder, as it has been called. There is a cost of admission
to see this beautiful site in nature and it is well worth the price to see it.

for the adventure seekers out there.
Hiking around the Grand Canyon is one of the most popular vacation activities
for this site. The trails around the rim are flat and easy to maneuver about
while some of the trails will lead you all the way down to the river. Be advised
that a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon will be an all day trip to the
bottom and then another day to climb back up. Sightseeing at the Grand Canyon
is probably just as popular as hiking it. The view alone is breathtaking and
is unlike anything that you have ever seen before. Touring this rock formation
can be done from the comfort of your car, a nature walk, or even horseback.

While the Grand Canyon’s view is a site to see, it’s north rim is
less easily accessed than that of the south rim. The south rim is where most
visitors arrive at to take in the Grand Canyon’s magnificent beauty and
travel down one of its paved or unpaved pathways. The north rim of the Grand
Canyon also has fantastic views that are 1000 feet higher than that of the south
rim. Walkways are also accessible, but it is traveled less than the south rim
is. The Grand Canyon has beautiful sights to explore from the outside and the
inside. The people who love an adventure and a thrill will want to explore the
inner canyon. Hiking through the canyon can be done through the South Kaibab
Trail or the Bright Angel Trail, which will both lead you down the Colorado
River. Both of these trails are for the more experienced and stronger hikers.
For those who want to hike, but not be so worn out afterwards, there are pack
mules that will take you up, down, and around the Grand Canyon. A river trip
around the Colorado River will take you around to explore the Grand Canyon.
If you take a raft out that is powered only by oars, it will take you as long
as 3 weeks to complete the journey. Your best bet is ride along a motor powered
raft as this journey can be completed in as little as one week.
A trip to the Grand Canyon is definitely the trip of a lifetime. Besides hiking,
you can enjoy fishing, bike riding, or tours from the sky in a helicopter. Whichever
mode of transportation you choose, the view will be amazing. Areas outside the
Grand Canyon allow you to enjoy nature walks, camping, and horseback riding
or even cross-country skiing during the winter months. A great way to see the
Grand Canyon is at the local IMAX Theater. Here you get an up close and personal
view of this beautiful creation in nature. You may want to take part in one
of the many tours that the Grand Canyon offers in either a raft ride or on an
ATV ride. Restaurants and shopping are also great activities to pursue while
you are on vacation at the Grand Canyon. Native American pieces or works of
art and collectibles can be purchased that will give you a memory to take with
you so that you will never forget your vacation to the spectacular Grand Canyon.
